Most managers in our sector believe that their team will see them as weak if they struggle to make a decision, even if they do not have the technical knowledge to do so. That is when managers sometimes make a decision because they believe it is their job. Big mistake. If you have two technicians, each with a different method for solving a problem, you may not know which method is technically the best. So, how do you make the decision? A manager does not add value by telling their team what to do. They add value by asking questions.
