In the hospitality industry, we often work from the inside out: refining our internal procedures, polishing protocols, fine-tuning revenue management strategies and pursuing operational excellence from the very core of the hotel. But what would happen if we reversed the logic? What if we chose to look outward in order to innovate within?

I have learned that some of the most transformative ideas in my career did not originate within the hotel walls, but came from the periphery: from unrelated sectors, people with unexpected career paths and unlikely collaborators. The kind many would call outsiders. And yet, these outside minds have been able to see what those of us on the inside can no longer distinguish through familiarity.
