There are pivotal moments when, as hoteliers, we believe we have everything in our favour to close a sale, yet something holds the guest back. On many occasions, I have found myself analysing abandoned bookings or prospective guests who seemed ready to book and yet disappeared. It is not a lack of information. It is the lack of emotional reassurance that slows down or stops conversion. This is why understanding what drives—or blocks—a guest is a strategic advantage in hospitality.
