Why Tangible Touchpoints Still Win in a Digital World

THE IDEA

In an increasingly digital hospitality industry, physical touchpoints are regaining unexpected strategic value. Touch, sensory engagement and thoughtfully designed objects can create attention, trust, recall and emotional connection. The future of hotel marketing is not about choosing physical over digital, but integrating both to create more memorable, human and commercially effective guest experiences.

We live in an era in which the hotel industry seems to have embraced one unquestionable truth: everything must be digital. We automate processes, send email campaigns, invest in social media, optimise booking engines, deploy chatbots and analyse data in real time. Yet the more digital the environment becomes, the more valuable what can be touched appears to be.

Recently, I was reflecting on a paradox I observe with increasing frequency in Hospitality. While marketing departments compete to capture the attention of guests saturated by screens, notifications and promotional messages, the impressions that truly remain in their memory often come from carefully designed physical experiences.
