Generation Z is no longer the future of hospitality; it is the present shaping every decision we make. Whenever I look at bookings, online reviews or social media conversations, it becomes clear that this generation is not only changing the way people travel, but also forcing us to fundamentally transform how we manage our hotels. Delivering good service is no longer enough; we must connect with their values, speak their language and, above all, anticipate their expectations.
This generation, which has grown up with a smartphone in hand and the world just a click away, demands immediate, personalised and authentic experiences. They cannot conceive of anything not being digitalised, yet they will not forgive technology that takes warmth away from human interaction. They expect consistency: sustainability and diversity commitments must translate into tangible action. I have learned that trying to satisfy them with half-measures is worse than doing nothing at all; their radar for detecting inconsistencies is infallible.
