Invisible Hotel Services That Increase Guest NPS

The most memorable parts of a hotel stay are often the ones guests never consciously notice. From impeccable cleanliness and sensory comfort to proactive service and thoughtful follow-up, these behind-the-scenes details can strengthen guest satisfaction and increase hotel recommendations. Explore practical ways to optimise invisible services and turn them into a strategic advantage for your hotel’s NPS.

There is an unavoidable truth in hospitality: guests remember how you made them feel. They do not always remember what they had for dinner, how many stars your hotel has, or whether the marble was from Carrara or Calatorao. But the impression they take away from their emotional experience with you—that remains. In that sense, I have learned that invisible services are, paradoxically, the most visible in the guest’s memory.
These services do not appear on menu pages or in room description sheets. You will not find them highlighted in marketing campaigns, nor do they take centre stage in corporate videos. Yet they have a quiet but powerful impact on the Net Promoter Score (NPS), that barometer which measures not only satisfaction, but also a guest’s willingness to recommend us. And as we well know, what is not measured cannot be improved… and what is not cared for is lost.
