I was not at the hotel last night. A terrible cold had taken me out of action. And I confess something: rarely has being absent bothered me so much.
Because while I was at home with a fever, in the hotel restaurant—full, as one would expect from a well-run establishment—a guest staying in our best room decided to fly into a rage because his dishes were taking too long. He was not alone in the dining room. He was not the only diner. Yet he behaved as though the world had stopped exclusively for him.
