When Trust Becomes Strategy

THE IDEA

In family-owned hotels, alignment between ownership and management is an art: balancing emotion with operational discipline, heritage with innovation. Mutual trust, shared goals and recognition of commitment create a coherent culture that inspires teams and gives purpose real meaning.

I have come to the conclusion that, in a family-owned hotel, the alignment between ownership and the management team is not measured by financial results, but by something harder to quantify: mutual understanding. That sense of rowing in the same direction, of sharing a vision beyond the numbers, of knowing that when things go wrong—and in hospitality, they sometimes go very wrong—there is mutual trust, respect and loyalty.
